Content Curation the New Buzz Word

Content Curation sifting through information for gold

Let take a look  at the definition of "Content Curation"

Content Curation is the the need to collect and catalogue only the most interesting things about a subject so to share it for the common benefit.

I do not know about you, but sometimes it does seem that there is so much of content out there,  it almost seems has though my brain is going to explode from information overload.

The Questions I began asking myself
So how to you decide who to listen to and which article do you read.

After I had my baby I was searching online how what exercises I could do to  firm up my abs. Between the hundreds the hundreds of pages I read and video's are saw I really wished I had somewhere to go where someone just like me filtered through all the jargon and just highlighted the content that would be valuable to me. Boy wouldn't that have been nice.

With Pinterest that excellently what I found, I found like minded people that cataloged content online. Content they deemed valuable. Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest are the engines of this new curation trend.

Becoming a great content curator:
  • Sharing interesting stuff with your friends and network is something that most people already do. But if you want people to start seeing you as a Trusted source of information, you need to pick your topic. You can’t be jack of all trades.
  • Share valuable content, people, friends  and family would be interested in.
  • Share continuously, we live in a world where content gets shared in real time.
How to get Started!
  • Set-up Google Alerts on certain keywords.
  • Set up a Google RSS Reader & start monitoring relevant blogs & news sites
  • Start updating your Linkedin status with links tocontent your niche would be interested in.
